Amerikanske valgkampvideoer kommer ikke nevneverdig høyt på listen over hva jeg foretrekker å se, men det kan hende at det endrer seg i 2008. Nå er det ikke snakk om offisielle valgkamputspill, men Barack Obama ser ut til å inspirere noen kreative og estetiske innlegg i den offentlige debatten. Nå tenker jeg ikke på Obama Girl, men will.i.am fra Black Eyed Peas forteller at han ble så superinspirert av Obamas tale i Nashua, New Hampshire at han skrev en sang og laget en musikkvideo med Jesse Dylan. Tonesatt remix av en valgkamptale: «Yes We Can».

Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea --

Jeg syntes også denne videoen var kul. I det hele tatt synes jeg som regel venstresiden (i ordets aller videste forstand) er flinke til å lage denne typen ting.

Det blir veldig vid forstand (men vi har da vidd og forstand begge to vil jeg tro). Jeg må vel innrømme at jeg har hatt større sans for The Black Eyed Peas enn amerikansk politikk de siste årene.
